Following tonight’s results I thought I would have a crack at how the NPL Premier might look next season (thanks to Mike 25 also)
Remaining in the NPL Premier from 2023/24 -
1. Ashton United 2. Bamber Bridge 3. Basford 4. Gainsborough Trinity 5. Guiseley 6. FCUM 7. Hyde United 8. Ilkeston Town 9. Lancaster City 10. Matlock Town 11. Morpeth Town 12.Warrington Rylands 13. Whitby Town 14. Workington 15. Worksop Town
Losers of the NPL Premier play off final
16. Macclesfield or Marine
Winners of the NPL East and West
17. Hebburn Town 18. Leek Town
Winners of the NPL East and West play off finals
19. Stockton or Dunston 20. Prescot Cables or City of Liverpool
Relegated from National League North
21. Blyth Spartans
This leaves one team that will need to transfer across to NPL Premier from elsewhere. Main candidates based on geography look like Mickleover or Telford United from the Southern Premier Central although both are involved in the play offs so one may be promoted to National League North. Another candidate could be Spalding United, champions of NPL MIdlands. No doubt all of those will be wrong!!
One thing for sure is Guiseley will be in a somewhat isolated pocket from a geographical perspective with no local derbies - nearest teams will be Bamber Bridge and Lancaster, followed by the Greater Manchester trio of Ashton, Hyde and FCUM. 18 known teams will be 21 by Monday evening.

Could also be Anstey Nomads if they beat Harborough in play-off final as slightly further south than Spalding, by a lot easier to get to being close to M1.

Beat me to it CDP. I came up with the same conclusion. Will be interesting to see which of the lucky/unlucky clubs will be the one to transfer across.

Mickleover are out of the playoffs, only 10 miles from Belper and less than 20 from Basford so logic says it should be them who get switched to our league. Other candidates are all further south.

Ok so in terms of the top of table squeeze, are we looking at -
Ashton Worksop Marine/Macc Hyde Guiseley
Plus quite possibly
Blyth (who knows) Hebburn (must have some money if they’ve got Adam Boyes now)
And probably another one or two from Leek Lancaster Ilkeston Stockton
Still looks like a tight division. Who have I missed?

Who have I missed? Matlock? Appointed Nicky Law as manager. He'll have all the same contacts as Russ O'Neill, so all things being equal will be fishing for the same players as we are.

Who have I missed? I think Gainsborough will be strong as well. So that’s half the teams in the league!! And there are always one or two unexpected surprises so I think we should merely assume that it will be a tough league once again

OK I missed Rylands, Gainsborough might improve and Matlock have a solid manager.
Let’s at least hope Macclesfield go up then so there are two promotion opportunities to fight for.

Robbie Savage won't be too happy then so probably another managerial change?

Little bit annoying that we have another year of them trying to buy their way out. They’ll probably succeed and leave us fighting over scraps.
