Joe is an amazing signing. He was a real bright spark in a poor season when he was with us. I didn't expect to see him back again as he looked to have the attributes to compete further up the league. I'm so excited for the new season. Every player we've signed up has the quality to be playing at a higher level. I wasn't going to renew my season ticket as I might not be able to make it to every game this year.. but I pulled the trigger last week. The best thing I think is that these are great signings, but also known quantities. It's like we're getting the band back together. Also, looking at the list of signed players. There are 16 players and I would think all 16 of them would expect to be in the starting XI. It's a really strong lineup. Can't wait for Bradford on Saturday! Agree entirely. Bowser has some difficult decisions to make, not least the back 4

Gutted about Jake Wright, he sounded like a real handful.

Confirmation that Jake Wright will sit out the rest of the 2024/25 season through injury after suffering a ruptured ACL and meniscus tear in the friendly at Avro last week. There’s more on the website on the news including quotes from Mark Bower and Russ O’Neill: guiseleyafc.co.uk/jake-wright-injury-update/Terrible news for Jake and hopefully he is back fighting fit soon. Good luck Jake! AB

Reece Kendall joins Matlock - just up on the website. Shame as he’s undoubtedly talented going forward but I’m not sure his defensive concentration or general mentality were quite the right fit for this new era.
I enjoyed his long range goals of course but his behaviour at Stockton and several times at Nethermoor make me think this is a win win - Matlock have advertised that they have a new money tree so needed signings and for us it frees up money for other priorities.

Amazing work by the club to get a fee. After his Hyde showing I’d have let him go for nowt. There’s a really good player in him but his head (and support team) are getting in the way

The "best left back in this division" may have departed, but we appear to have signed a more than adequate replacement in the very experienced former Bradford City left-footed defender Liam Ridehalgh.

Looks like Reece is now the 2nd best LB in the division. Thats a proper signing. Played over 400 pro games including nearly 30 last season in L2. Reminds me a little of when we signed Parker. Well done to all who made this happen although feel slightly sorry for Ollie

Great signing and brings a lot of experience with him which will stand us in good stead and I always thought Ollie was best in midfield.

I think the specific claim was “the best left back outside of the football league”. I remember this new guy being outstanding for Tranmere though so let’s wait and see if there’s competition.

Definitely feel for Ollie who has been excellent out of position. We’re lucky to have two such good right backs, and it’s a long season and I expect he’ll have a big role in it.
But yeah, this feels like a statement signing - a real onwards and upwards sort of replacement.

Great new signing. Cant wait to see him in action, but I would echo the comments around Ollie Brown - he's a great player and a great lad who (unlike a certain Reece Kendall) seems to have a very positive attitude towards the game.
