Really looking forward to this one. Proper test of our progress. A win would say a lot about our progress, however I expect Hyde to be very strong. It’s been so entertaining in recent weeks I expect nothing less than another thriller!

A game of non league football at its very best today. Two teams wanting to play skilful entertaining football, equally committed fairly matched as a football lover a joy to watch. So so difficult to come up with a MOM today, every single member of that team including subs did their job. Thank you boys, onwards and upwards

As good as it gets I think! Set pieces and individually excellent performances like Farrell’s can’t be scheduled but even without them we still would’ve won comfortably today. Brilliant team performance and you could still with a straight face say we should’ve won by more.

WOW WOW WOW !!!! The best performance I have seen from Guiseley in several years!! Such team work, commitment ,determination and energy from every player! To beat the league leaders 4:0 it would be wrong of me to pick out any one performance because everyone played their part. Thank you lads you were on fire! Hope Jameel is doing ok? 🦁🦁🦁🦁

While I agree that it would be wrong to pick out any one particular player, it has to be said that Farrell is a class apart and we need to convince Barnsley that for him to stay with us for the whole season would be good for his development !!

They’d be mad to let him go anywhere else! What an experience this season could be for him - and maybe next season he can try his hand a division higher with us…

Another unbeatesn run gone for a burton and fully deserved as we dominated the leaders who didn't have a clue how to handle out high press and tenaciouis tackling. IMO we looking like serious play-off or title comntenders on this form.

Brilliant performance. We were comfortably the best team today and Hyde had no reply for our press today. Gave them an absolute drubbing and thats 2/2 against so called top teams in the last 2 games, albeit last weeks result was in the FA Cup.
The only downside for me was Kendall's clear refusal to celebrate the 4th goal. There's clearly still issues there following the Twitter spat a few weeks ago.

I thought we were phenomenal today. Great performances throughout. Controlled possession blended with swift incisive attacking moves. This was a strong Hyde side and we got off to the worst start in losing Jameel Ible within seconds. Lawlor really impressed. As did the rest of the back four. Odunstun in particular got the better of Redshaw. Moke imperious in midfield, Ekpolo industrious, Johnson was exceptional. Longbottom’s free kick fantastic. Lufudu was a constant danger, and of course Farrell superb. Our subs bench is perhaps the most important aspect. In game charges are crucial (as Lawlor proved), and so need to be professional in their approach.
We have a very good squad, great recruitment (the value of Russ O’Neill often under appreciated), and excellent coaching and management.
Long may this continue!

And then running it into the corner to waste time at 4-0 up. Seems Mark is handling it well, giving him minutes every week in a team that’s winning games and playing well and not leaving him out altogether, but Reece could afford to grow up and act like a team player.

Incidentally, this is doing nothing to make me doubt my belief that Mark is easily our best and most likeable manager in my fifteen years of following. So good to enjoy games like this again!

Wow, what a performance and win today. Going into the game I expected it to be tight and a real contest, as they always are when we play Hyde. Losing Jameel so early was a big set back too and I send my best wishes to him for a speedy recovery for what looked like a painful injury. Hyde did have a good start and came close to scoring early on, being honest our opening goal came against the run of the early play. We won a free kick right on the edge of the area, no one else was going to take it but Longbottom and he stepped up to fire it into the bottom corner superbly, another cracking finish from the forward! We nearly made it 2-0 just a few minutes later when Lufudu fired over from a corner, a good opportunity for the winger. Former Lion Hiddleston had a busy afternoon in the Hyde net and he kept out Longbottom, who seemed to coast through into the box, with a good save. Wither half an hour on the clock it was 2-0 and it was Leo Farrell again, the forward through one on one with Hiddleston curled the ball past him and in. The first half quietened off after that, Hyde came into the game more but didn't create a lot despite having the tricky Redshaw in their front line. The second half started with us on top again and after some good early pressure we put the match to bed. After Lufudu, Johnson and Mbeka had all gone close Farrell got his second with a flicked header which deceived the home defence and flew into the corner near the back post. A sea of changes followed for both sides and Hyde were pushing to get a goal back, Bunn shot over in one of Hyde's attacks. Farrell's dipping volley dropped just over Hiddleston's bar and Longbottom was denied from a free kick but it was another good stop from the Hyde keeper. In the final 10 minutes Hyde had their best chance of the afternoon but Cracknell and his home defence were not to be beaten. As time ticked down we made it four when a corner fell to Kendall who simply couldn't miss from two yards out. The cherry on top of the icing on top of a very tasty cake for the Lions! A brilliant win and afternoon at Nethermoor with a good crowd in. Well played Guiseley! Next up, Whitby away on Tuesday night. Come on Guiseley! AB

Hyde looked to play the right way, much like their team when they won National North, but were constantly pressured and dispossessed. The settling early goal came from pressing and taking the ball back on the edge of their area.
I thought Hyde's keeper made some good saves, including one to prevent an own goal. Had it just been "one of those days" then that would have gone in.
All very positive, but, as I heard someone say pre kick off, we always beat top of the league.

Great all round performance from Guiseley yesterday. Thought everyone played brilliant and the feel good factor was evident around the ground and in the clubhouse after the game. Nice to see a clean sheet and some quality finishing with a bit of luck and some good saves from Hyde’s keeper it could have been more convincing. Onwards and upwards.
