Sorry, forgot to say that: According to the same paper the two confirmed signings are as reported below:
"The players who have signed are midfielder Alex Callery and centre-back Ryan Crossley.
Former Huddersfield Town trainee Crossley, 27, has joined from neighbours Farsley Celtic where he skippered the Blue Square Conference side.
He joined Celtic three years ago from Bradford Park Avenue after experience with Stevenage Borough and Wakefield-Emley.
Midfielder Callery is Sheffield born and after experience with Sheffield Wednesday he signed for Gainsborough Trinity, Ossett Town and Frickley Athletic before a second spell at Gainsborough from where he joins Guiseley.
Kittrick said that of the players he had offered terms to two were with Conference clubs and three with Conference North clubs and among them was a quality striker'

In my humble opinion he has yet to bring in a single player that is any better than the ones he has let go. Still there is time, but how he can just let go players of the calibre of Sturdy and Hay I do not understand. I did hear that Crossley has had a lot of back problems, perhaps our friend Bluesquare will update us on that.

Its always difficult for the fans to see some of their favourites possibly leaving the club with Simon and Nathan seeming to be a big bone of contention. In fairness they havent been told that they are surplus to requirements only that their contracts werent being renewed but we wanted them to stay on a non contract basis. The fact that Steve hasnt heard from anyone makes you think they would rather play elsewhere possibly on contract than fight for their places at Guiseley. If lads believe in their own ability why the need to be on contract. It is of course each players perogative to accept or refuse what has been offered and i would like to thank them for their eforts whilst Steve and I have been here.Simon and Nathan in particular are two of the nicest lads you could meet.

But as you know, Wayne, self-belief is only half of it; you also have to feel that your management believe in you.

Being told that they are not worthy of a contract doesn't exactly make them feel wanted, and why are they favourites of the fans, because they are good players who always give their best. Good luck boys we will miss you but can't say I blame you for not hanging around on the off chance, I'm sure you will do well wherever you play, it's Guiseley's loss.
