Thanks for updating us, Wayne - appreciated. We need to know what's been decided. Why it's been decided is for you to know and for us to debate.
They're all good players, but Sturdy is the surprising one for me - outstanding in many of the games I saw. If the team wants to play more of a passing game, then Nathan Hay is not the man and much as I like Richard Dunning, his form seemed to decline at the end of the season, especially in the fatal draws when we were in need of some inspiration. Let's hope for some good new arrivals and, once we get them, some stability, rather than the revolving door of recent seasons. That's my two penn'orth,
Ivor

I see Wayne neglected to respond to my point about contradicting himself, I can only assume I hit the nail on the head!! Wayne mentioned the spine of the team being good!! How ever he did not mention one midfield player! correct me if i'm wrong but I assume that the spine should include the midfield, not just the defence and strikers! Once again Wayne trying to bluff his way through BAD decisions. I only hope we dont regret letting good players go!

Thanks for the updates Wayne - anything else you are able to share with us during the summer will be much appreciated. I think we are all sad to see long serving and popular players move on from the Club, but as long as the replacements are better, and, more importantly, the management moulds a better team out of the individuals in the squad, then we will all be happy. For those with short memories I might remind them that out of ten league games against the fives teams that finished above us last season we won one, drew two and lost seven - that says to me that some fairly major surgery is required. Hope you and Steve have got a couple of quality strikers on the shopping list to support James Hanson - we didn't score enough goals throughout the whole of last season.

Please do not take it upon yourself to tell me I am happy, I am quite willing and old enough to answer for myself, that is the whole point of this forum isn't it!! I am simply stating a point that Wayne has neglected to respond to my initial post, if you feel you need to defend him then fine, but do not assume you speak for the whole supporters when you make your posts. As far as I am aware we have not signed any significant madfielders, but have let a good one go!! which again contradicts what Wayne has stated.

A 'significant madfielder' is just what we need.

Does anyone know if Paul taylor is still at vauxhall motors? I know he was on trial at Leeds towards the end of last season,he was the best striker i saw last season apart from James hanson of course

Dear Pinstripe im sorry if we have upset you by not offering Rich Dunning a new contract,it wasnt a decision taken lightly. He is undoubtedly a good player and a nice lad too but are we saying that one man is so influential that if hes not around we wont be as good.We are actively looking for 2 midfielders and have spoken to four or five who seem keen and we are awaiting their decisions. Its still fairly early in the off season and players are a little reluctant to rush into things but im sure in due course we will get the guys we want and hopefully they will prove to be better than Richard as difficult as that may be for some to understand. It seems opinion was divided on Richard with some of you guys not rating him, some thinking he is a very good player, some saying he shouldnt be captain, others saying hes a better right back and so on.At the end of it all the manager decided not to offer the lad a contract which is his right. Not forgetting also that we also have Lee Pugh and Damian Dunne {non contract may i add]still with us both of which the best is yet to come, especially Pughy who has had a stop start few months because of injury.Hope this answers some of your questions Pinstripe.

Thanks for the positive post Cdp and to answer your question about strikers yes we are looking for 2 of quality. We cant rely on James as much as last season to score the bulk of our goals,we need others to contribute, wouldnt it be nice if we could have 2 strikers scoring 20 goals each and maybe a third striker scoring 12-15.The difficulty is finding them and are they on contract or not.

Its good to see that the management want to bring in 2 strikers if possible ,James hanson is a very good young player but i think we need someone with pace and someone with experiance,Thanks for that info (Boselecta) on paul taylor if vauxhall can keep hold of him they will be in with a shout this season.
