A very sensible post scout for which i thank you.The honest answer about dicko is we r not sure whats happening. He is a big part of our plans we have told him this but the manager has to pick a team to win a football match.Hopefully you the fans can see what we are trying to do in terms of strenthening the squad so that there is genuine competition for places and if anyone dips below the standards we have set then there is someone chomping at the bit to come in and replace them.Players too often have an easy life because they know within reason they are going to play week in week out, hopefully we are changing that mentality at guisely. We understand that dicko is very popular in and around the club and the management have a lot of time for him but we have to look at a bigger picture,no individual is bigger than the club we have to remember that there were six other players not included in the squad today. As you have already said the fans want to see guisely win, believe me so do the management and you have to believe we want the best for guisely fc the decision to bring in another keeper is not personal. On another note could you please get behind our new signings as in fairness you already have,Cotterill was great again today, lee pugh was outstanding and piotr skiba was very solid if we all stick together we could be in for an exciting end to the season

Wayne, Thanks for coming on the Forum and chatting with us.
Something that a lot of us, including myself, have moaned about in the past is the lack of communication between the management and supporters, and in doing this you've already opened up the possibilty of a new sense of 'belonging' amongst the fans.
I think you'll find that Guiseley supporters are a pretty loyal bunch. We have our favourites, of course we do, we're just like any other set of fans in that but, above all, we try to get behind the team and just want to realise the potential at this cracking little club.
For my own part, I consider Dicko to be a near legend at this club, and one of the very best goalkeepers in this league. I just hope that we can draw a line under the recent times when really good players have, for whatever reason, left the club, and I hope that Dicko bucks the trend and stays with us. I also hope that everyone at the club; management, players and supporters alike can unite behind the badge and still make something of this season.

I'm beginning to wish i had come on the forum earlier as the response has been positive I'm sure you appreciate i have to keep my distance and be sensible with things, however i totally understand where you are coming from. There is no doubt dicko is a quality keeper and i like you hope he stays but we have to as a management team back our judgement and we felt both he and the club would benefit from someone coming in to challenge him for his place. It couldn't be any run of the mill keeper which is why we went for piotr who in my opinion could play at a higher level,in this respect we now have created a problem for ourselves because whoever we play in goal will do an outstanding job for us.Hopefully you will concede that we have shown ourselves to be brave with our decision making IE the keeper situation and replacing damian dunne after 35 minutes of todays game,i can assure you we will never shy away from making such calls.I know that steve and myself may never have everyone on side and criticism comes with the territory but we will keep our heads down and continue to work our tails off to produce a team that you can be proud of .Recent games have been very encouraging and the squad now looks strong but were not getting carried away there are still things to work on but hopefully you can see were going in the right direction

Nice to hear from you, Wayne, a welcome move forward.
Good result today, but I'm sure you'll agree that we made hard work of it against a side who, a couple of nippy forwards and a solid keeper apart, were truly shambolic.
James Cotterill and Lee Pugh look handy and appear to fill two gaping holes in the side the last year or so, the larger-than-life roaring defender and the foot-on-the-ball playmaker. When everyone gets used to each other's game, it looks promising.
If you can keep two class goalkeepers happy till the end of the season it'll be a major achievement, but along with Danny Ellis's reported dissatisfaction it highlights a possible problem, the polarization of the dressing room into 'Dolan's team' and 'ex-Ossett' factions. If you can sort that, along with one more striker to provide options 'B' and 'C', I can see us on a roll that could take us all the way.
Anyway, good luck; we are Guiseley, and we'll be solidly behind all genuine attempts to get things right.

I can't answer for the management Adam but, Piotr Skiba is cup-tied,that leaves only Steve Dickinson as the only experienced keeper.

Great to hear from you Wayne and for clearing up the matter of Steve Smith. Heard today about another ex Guiseley player who lost his way following a nasty injury Dave Henry. Seems he is enjoying his football and scoring goals for Buxton.

A good post by otleybard and i agree pretty much with everything you said.Lincoln werent a good side and we did make hard work of things in the 1st half but after a few words we came out and played very well and created a number of opportunities in the second. As well as the new guys Bettsy,Rich Dunning, Nathan Sturds and Danny Ellis played well.As i said were not the finished article there are things to work on but we are improving and once the new signings gel with the lads who were already here then we can be a force in the second half of the season, but that doesnt happen overnight.Icant comment on Dannys so called dissatifaction only to say that he is a pleasure to work with and he has never given us any indication that he is unhappy or wants to leave, and with regards to there being factions in the dressing room i can assure you all ther is no problem whatsoever on that score. The spirit and the banter is great and there are no cliques as was reported to us by various people when we were appointed to the job

Thanks for the posts Wayne, great to hear from the management on the forum.
With 17 games left to play this season in the league, more than any of our competitors except Fleetwood, we're going to be playing two games a week most weeks. This means a strain on player which is inevitably going to lead to an injury or two to key players (or even suspensions due to booking tallies). Having "back-up" players in key positions waiting for their chance, can only be a good position to be in, so I for one, am pleased with the new signings coming in.
Remember a couple of seasons ago, before the money men, we played the last half dozen games with virtually no subs. You can't push for promotion with that situation, so I'm behind the management & team as I'm sure all supporters are.
Roll on Tues night & a good performance & win over Eastwood in the cup.

dicko is still best keeper around in non league no question about it,skiba is ok for backup and thats it.skiba was very poor in the first half everything he did was poor,2nd half he picked up alittle bit but anybody could of been in the nets.to say he had asolid game is a joke.leaving dicko out like you did was disgrace and very unfair on dicko who has been one of the best players in are last 3 games.i know for afact 4 to 5 clubs have already been on the phone to dicko wanting him and all in higher leagues.so lets hope kittrick does the right thing and gets dicko back in,but saying that if i was dicko i would tell them to stuff it.i wouldnt treat my dog like u have dicko.

peter is a class keeper cotty is solid and pugh quality just a pitty they're not at ossett anymore The wheels have come of our season but we have to battle on with our new management team working to maintain unibond status on a small budget unlike yourselves. But no doubt we'll both be in the same division next season you with your large budget and all our players. Us with a small budget making it difficult for the supposed big boys. Hope your well benno & steve
