A left back and a striker! I do love how we announce signings the day before a game! Was it last year where we announced Hull and Graton in the morning and they were in the starting line up at 3pm.
I get the feeling this year that the loan signings are to compliment the squad we have rather than us designing our team around them which is what we seemed to do previously.

Sad because JJ is such a fun player to watch but this sadly makes sense to me for a few reasons -
On our side - JJ really isn’t a finisher and his final balls and set pieces have been a bit frustrating at times after he’s done so well to get up the field. There may be other things we can do with the wage freed up.
On his side - he’s got a newborn and is coming from absolutely miles away. I remember in the press release we’d made an exception to the “local players only” rule on the basis that he was car sharing with Ethan Cartwright. With Ethan seemingly out of the picture, I wouldn’t want to take on that much commuting several times a week by myself.
Hope he does well but not too well for Matlock.

Understand what you mean regarding a frustrating player at times. Does the "hard work", but then no end product (either shot or pass). But then again, on occasions, could be a real game-changer. Best of luck to him at Matlock. Just hope he has a stinker on 21st Jan Rallyman

These are good sturdy puns, not like the flat pack ones we trotted out for Drenchy year after year.
