Do you know where he's off to ? Hopefully not Telford as well. So with Josh gone to Wigan & if rumours are true, Hamsa has gone to Worksop to be nearer home, that's four players gone already & surely a few more will follow due to us dropping a league and/or travel. But I'm sure the two Danny's will be working away in the background to recruit new talent. We just have to be patient. Rallyman Once those offered contracts accept or move on the two Dannys will know what gaps need filling. So the sooner we know this the better. In truth, even allowing for dropping down a league I’d be more worried if the majority of last season’s squad were retained. Yep, time to refocus and rebuild.

So none of this is surprising. It’s hard to imagine many of last years first team squad will stay which is a shame but to be expected. If honest, I thought Prince could play at a higher level - his performance VS AFC Wimbledon was immense. Similarly, Dom looked quality but we seemed reluctant to play him at the end so not too surprised he wanted to move on. However, the signing of George Smith sounds extremely promising and I’m hoping for a combination of Danny E’s connections and Danny F’s rough diamonds - We’ll be fine

I’m not a fan of some the vitriol being sent the way of Dominic Tear, because he decided to play for a club higher up the league than us. (Like it or not that’s where we are now…)
This is going to happen more and more over the next few weeks, as players more than capable of playing NLN football take offers higher than we can afford.
I don’t blame them - a footballers career is short, and at this level, not that well paid. They have to chase the money while they can and that doesn’t leave a lot of room for sentiment. We’ve seen players with far more mercenary intent than Dominic Tear over the last few years (looking at you, 90% of Paul C*x’s signings). He was played out of position for most of his time with us, and still managed to score some vital goals. I got the feeling he did his best, but suffered from not quite being allowed to play in a system that suited him. Maybe he’ll find that at Scarborough.
But there’s no point getting angry with him, he’s just doing what’s best for his career, and be honest, you’d do the same.

Well said Dave, Dom did his best for us cannot blame him for wanting to play at the highest level possible. Thought are side looked better for him starting. More disappointed with Prince going to Telford just because of the two horrible so and so’s in charge. Onwards and upwards.

Got to agree here. Players play for a club in VNLN & end up being relegated. They then are offered a chance to remain in that league with another club (& probably on higher wages) and they decide to go that direction. Is that really wrong on their part ? I think not & said previously certain players who (I believe) are VNLN standard would be picked up by clubs in that league. There will probably be more to come, so lets all accept the enviable & look forward to supporting our remainees and new signings like George & Jameel.

We signed Tear who looked to me like he was a winger, and played him in a team with no wingers in the formation. By the time we changed manager/shape, he was already out of form. I’d leave too.

I concur, I think Dom always tried his best and despite his limited opportunities towards the end and being out of position probably finished as our second top scorer. His 2 goals against Alfreton and goal against Curston gave us hope of survival!

On the flip side there’s probably some unknowing lower NPL sides looking at us and snarling at the thought of us trying to poach their best players.

No great surprise about Jamie leaving, or where he’s gone to. It was such a shame he missed so much of the season - we were a better team when he was in it.

Agreed we were a much better team when he was fit. With all these players leaving who I all rate highly and are going to teams in the league we were just relegated from makes you realise how much we underachieved with the players we had. Although massively unlucky with injuries throughout if we had a striker we could have been a very good team!

It was all down to management at the end of the day and despite the reputations of Russ O'Niell and Marcus Bignott they failed. Whereas Steve Kittrick proved what could be done in just six games.

Agree, shame that he won't be with us as you could really see in that spell after Fylde until his return how much we missed him. Good luck at the Avenue Jamie! AB

Yeah it was such a terrible season - it wasn’t just the overcomplicated tactics or the tight budget, it was that the established players we were counting on were missing. Zero chance we go to the last game of the season if Jamie and Kaine get a full season in.

Has Mbeka left too? I saw a post about 3 days ago on Twitter which was a fairly obvious goodbye to the fans but not spotted anything official from the club?
