if you think the planning application was complicated - getting it passed in time may prove impossible for next season. I’m guessing there’ll need to be resident consultation and no doubt all public bodies will need to be consulted too. Such groups are not always as in favour of plastic pitches as it might seem.

Is the new pitch going to be a 3G or 4G?
My understanding is that it is planned that the area covering the current 3G pitch will be redeveloped to include changing rooms. How will this be integrated with the current ground? It appears that there is a public footpath that runs between the two.

3G is the one approved for semi pro football I understand, 4G isn’t an option.

On what basis would they complain though? It’s not like it’s a public playing field being fenced off for the first time and resurfaced. Not sure how the surface would materially affect anyone given that it’s not overlooked by or accessible to anyone immediately local to it.

Not siding with the NIMBYs but Nethermoor is currently used every second Saturday and the occassional Tuesday evening plus on the odd Wednesday afternoon by the Academy. Potential usage of the 3G is probably several evenings per week and possibly the weekend,so if you live on Ings lane or Ings Crescent thats going to be quite an increase in traffic. One of the first issues to be resolved will be the removal of over 3000 tonnes of soil from the site when the only viable access at present is down Ings Crescent.

There are already training sessions on the current 3G during the week so I can’t see there being much more traffic.

If the club are planning to hire it out every evening, then reading other planning issues on 3G pitches.... the floodlights will be always on - there are always complaints about the use of whistles - which can't be used after a certain time, more noise and the usual parking problems resulting from the extra use. If it just for the academy and first team games then less of an issue I guess - but less money generated! Local residents will always complain!

Pitch being reseeded at the end of this month so presumably the 3G will be installed around this time next year.

I’ve been on the grumpy letter writing side of applications often enough. But unless there are any restrictions on our usage of Nethermoor that prevent those from happening already then I don’t know how that could make a material difference. If it’s not something in our lease paperwork then the only thing preventing us from doing all of those things now is that we choose not to play on mud? The use of the existing astro pitch would help us too - the location is already in use far more than just first team fixtures and everyone locally seems to be surviving?

It probably will pass planning with a number of caveats - but doubt in time for next season. Who knows! Said this before, the club was at a crossroads a while back when numerous plans for the development of Nethermoor were turned down or withdrawn. The Council are only interested in building houses with no regards to extra sports facilities or any new infrastructure! Being pessimistic I fear that any plans to build on the existing 3G pitch will struggle. Who in their right mind would complain about a new clubhouse facility or even a new railway stand? They aren't overbearing mega structures. Unfortunately many locals will I fear. The fact that the land was a gift to the people of Guiseley doesn't help, nor that its in a conservation area. Didn't stop the council building a housing development on the Silver Cross site or a big block of retirement homes nearby though!

And on the green fields that included a cricket ground on Netherfield Road opposite Moon and Sons. But then every additional house or apartment becomes another source of Council Tax doesn't it?

Tractor and heavy roller working on the pitch yesterday. When I heard the heavy machinery I assumed it was removing up the turf.
I hope the ground staff don’t put in a lot of hard work getting the pitch ready for next season only for it to be ripped up.

Great our lovely neighbours already having there neighbour hood watch meetings already . Honestly for club to continue for the next decade why we don't look to relocate hence more sustainable revenue to function. Hospitality just don't think it will ever happen if we stay at neathermoor.
