Great our lovely neighbours already having there neighbour hood watch meetings already . Honestly for club to continue for the next decade why we don't look to relocate hence more sustainable revenue to function. Hospitality just don't think it will ever happen if we stay at neathermoor. …………… As long as we stay in Guiseley, I don’t mind. Just don’t get any silly ideas about places like Keighley again…

Most of the comments objecting to the pitch are quite frankly ridiculous. One even says we shouldn't be allowed to install it due to a couple of owls living in a tree nearby. Some people need to get a grip and get a life.

Disappointing to see that Sport England has also objected to the installation of the pitch. So much for supporting the development of community facilities...

Problem with relocating is finding a suitable site and the finances to develop it as unlike other clubs we lease, not own, Nethermoor and therefore have no way of raising capital by selling off the land but I get where you're coming from. In addition to any planning comments our friends at the cricket club have also objected to the blue supports required to increase the height of the perimeter fence being fixed to the concrete planks on their side of the fence. So the council has temporarily suspended the work presumably while they investigate. So I suppose it's an 'owls that' from the cricket club?

Wherever you relocate to the tree huggers and Climate Change doom-mongers will follow.
They won’t be satisfied until we are all as totally miserable as them and unable to stray more than a mile from our homes.
They’ll want to ban us selling steak pies next!!

Looks like most of Sport England's objections come down to basics like telling them that nobody is losing any mixed-use playing fields, there's one football-only pitch in an enclosed stadium. The sustainability questions are above my knowledge level, though I'm sure the folks selling us the pitch will know what to do with answering them.
Not going to read the local objections, nothing about a plastic pitch affects anyone so it comes down a general objection to our existence. We've tumbled down divisions and there are fewer people coming to the club than in a decade, so you'd think they'd be happy that we're positioning to be a community club in the coming years rather than a pro level one.

Said it wouldn't be as easy as just sticking a pitch in
Sport England and the Football Foundation don't seem to be too opposed - they just need more clarification on the grade of the pitch which will reflect how often it can be used. Even the Council don't seem to be opposing, even on a traffic level basis. They just want extra covered bike parking facilities. All want a community pricing agreement. These are just steps along the process.
As to the fence - that has passed planning.

What is the legal status of GAFC? I assume it is not a member's club, but some sort of limited company. If so, who owns it, and what sort of company is it?
GAFC lease their ground. Who do they lease it from? If not the cricket club, who owns the cricket club's ground, which I assume they also lease. How long and what are the terms of the GAFC lease? What are the terms of ownership regarding the clubhouse?
It does seem rather petty if the cricket club are quibbling about how the new, higher fencing will be secured to the base fence, which was presumably originally erected at the expense and for the benefit of GAFC.

Can’t answer any of those questions with first hand knowledge but I’m pretty sure the yoking of our club and the cricket club via the main potential money spinner, the clubhouse, is the reason for a lot of the difficulties we’ve had over the last few years. Others will have more specific knowledge of the lease and the constitution of the clubhouse/social club.
Not sure I have the energy for the annual clubhouse drama though!
Oh and our club is a limited company, yes.

Speaking as a Green and a GAFC fan, (but without knowing about some of the other specific issues mentioned here) I very much hope grass continues to grow in the soil at Nethermoor for as long as possible and the team continue to play on it. It would be nice to see the whole notion of playing on a plastic pitch abandoned. This, for football reasons as much as environmental ones. But, I don’t want to see anyone becoming miserable, I haven’t hugged any trees lately, though I think overall, the people in power in this country are not taking man-made climate change seriously enough, like too much of the rest of the world!

As regards our more local problems, I’d rather sort out the things that are bothering us now, and I don’t think we should be scratching round the back of the sofa and taking every pop bottle back to the chippy so we can cobble together the cash for a bit of cover behind the goal. Perhaps we ought to just pay for what we know we can afford, and just wait for the same tooth fairy to sort the pitch out once they’ve magicked up the miracle of getting a roof over our heads. ………

We are always going to come back to the problem that the land was originally gifted by the Peate family and is now technically owned by Leeds City Council who issue the lease always in favour of the Cricket Club, who historically always object to any changes or improvements the football club instigate, protecting the income from the social club bar as it covers their outgoings before any other profit is shared. On a personal level I would like the grass pitch to stay but see the sense in trying to raise income separate from the cricket club and have never seen the advantage of having covered railway end and supporters financing it.
