There was some good news revealed at the dinner last night, Lewis Whitham has signed a new contract for next season!

The winger has also been able to book his pre-op procedures after a donation by a long time supporter to cover the shortfall in the fundraising.

Great news for the club and for Lewis as he works his way back to full fitness over the coming months.

In addition to the good news of Lewis' new contract and successful fundraising for his operation it must be remembered that the club already have Cam Mason, Jameel Ible and Scott Bakkor signed on for next season.

Do we know who out of the 22-23 squad has been offered terms and if not, when that info will be available?

I remember Liam Tongue looking handy when we were in NLN, he had a bit of something that maybe we were missing this season. Seems like a good signing, if we can get a few of that standard in then we’ll be on a good path.

Good first signing. Plenty of experience at this level and looks like will be a great asset to the dressing room for the younger lads. Surprised we haven’t seen CMW signed as yet. I’d like to see Hagie, Kwarme, Lewis G, Ross, Chips, Lewis H, Leigh and Kallan sign back on so expecting plenty of new signings

I'm pleased that a number of last seasons squad have already signed, personally would like Courtney and Benni to be approached,honestly not sure what Kellett could bring to the squad after lack of appearances last season and major questions as to his fitness and ability to see out a season.
We had enough problems with niggly injuries this season, surely it behests the club to try to get players not already doubtful fitness wise.

Reminder that every single summer there are some (not on here I don’t think, but you know, out THERE) that always seem to forget that player contracts often don’t run out until the end of May, and then they are entitled to negotiate with pretty much whoever they please, so announcements of signings, however seemingly nailed on, are often delayed by a number of weeks. And The Club (unless it throws money around Macclesfield-style) can do very little about that.

From the retained list I'd like to see all those offered terms Kwame Boateng, Callum Chippendale, Kallan Murphy, Adam Haw and Leigh Whelan sign for us again. As for those invited to training Andy Kellett is a brilliant player but too much of a risk and of the others Lewis Hey, Lewis Gardner, Hagie Damba, Oliwier Grezelak, and Miguel Valsau are the ones that stand out imo.

Some surprises on there for me.

The manager has been very critical of Kwame Boateng from the off - but he is one of O'Neill's favourites.
From what I heard Adam Haw had largely been frozen out by the manager. I wonder if we've offered him a contract as, due to his age, that means anyone wanting him has to pay a fee?
Murphy's goal return has been awful - one in 20 games? But he does make a lot of unnecessary contact with goalkeepers and lead with his elbows in the air. I suspect he's there to be a bully.

And as for Kellett. I keep hearing what a good player he is, but those comments seemed to fade away somewhat in that spell where he actually played a few games. We've already got one on contract who will probably only play a handful of games, so why waste money on another? Or does Lewis need someone to keep him company while he's on rehab?
