Really sad to see Adam go, you could clearly tell he was a talented footballer with a great family behind him. He never gave less than 100% whenever he pulled on the shirt and I wish him the best of luck for his move to Pontefract Collieries. Our former player Jordan Preston has signed for Avenue but I don't think we have missed out on anything there as never really set any of our games alight.

Jameel Ible was part of Saint Kitts and Nevis history on Sunday night when he started their first ever Gold Cup group game against Trinidad and Tobago.
Unfortunately it ended in a 3-0 defeat with Ible in line to face USA at 2:30am GMT on 29th June.

Jordan was brilliant in our National League days, cutting in from the left - his brace at Dagenham lives long in the memory. Not sure what he’s been performing like of late. I thought Jordan was a talented player when with us with the potential to play higher. Since then, he’s put on a bit of timber and found his level (NLN/NPL). Shame really but Id rather have Tom D |

Jameel played 71 minutes of Saint Kitts and Nevis' second group game against USA last night which resulted in a 6-0 loss for the 'Sugar Boyz'.
Their final group game is on Monday against Jamaica, kick-off is at 12am GMT.

Bailey Conway seems a bit of a coup. Very highly rated playing for a NPL rival and we've paid compensation for him.
Does anyone know what our connection with Gusto Sports Management is? Bailey is represented by him. Looking at their player portfolio a lot of their players have Guiseley connections including players we've signed and quite a lot who have come through our academy.

Talking of short careers at Guiseley, let's not forget former "world cup star" Shane Smeltz who, if my memory serves me right, came on in about the 85th minute of a game, shuffled about a bit, and was never seen again.
There was also a defender on loan last season who appeared to be completely out of his depth, and was sent off after 15 or so minutes for a reckless challenge.

But it’s a bit misleading to look at his site now - I noticed that several of our players became Gusto clients while they were with us in the last maybe eighteen months of the Russ and Marcus era. So it might be no more sinister than him recommending the club to some of his existing clients, and some of his existing clients recommending their agent to their teammates. He seems to mostly have pretty decent honest lads on his books but they all left en masse when we can down so whatever the relationship is, it can’t be a money thing… |
