Heisenberg apparently considered relativity and turbulence as two subjects that even God may find difficult to understand.
I would say non-league football finances is an even trickier matter to comprehend, particularly how relatively small towns can support a team playing in the higher divisions without significant benefactors.
I wish Marske well.

I see BPA lost their (in their words) must win 6 pointer to Atherton Colleries today, being 0-2 down at half-time.
Their new manager when he arrives will have a job on his hands to turn their fortunes around.

Interesting to see that Marske United have been suspended from the league and their next two matches which are against Worksop and Lancaster have been postponed. Unclear to me what the exact issue is but Marske have recently been acquired by a company called Marske United Limited and that company is seeking to raise £100k through a share offering. It would appear that some element of that breaches League rules - hence the suspension. Looking at the league table and clearly there is a long way to go to conclude this issue but if Marske’s results were to be expunged, nine of the top eleven teams in the league would lose three points. Rylands and Guiseley would lose none and Guiseley would climb to third in the table. We would also not have a game on Boxing Day which must be quite possible as I imagine this issue will take some time to resolve. Sad to see the situation at Marske, enjoyed our first visit there last season, a nice friendly club full of great people. Wish them all all the best to tackle this situation. AB

Looks like Marske have been given the ok to continue to play their fixtures on the basis that the change of ownership and associated share issues have been halted (those who subscribed for shares will get their money back) and the existing ownership structure will continue for the the rest of the season with plans to change for next season. Meanwhile the club needs to raise £120k to meet its costs for the remainder of this season. So it looks like our Boxing Day game is likely to go ahead (weather permitting). If I were a Marske fan I would have plenty of questions to ask in relation to who prepared and who approved the budgets for this season and who thought they could embark on a change of ownership structure without consulting with the NPL first to gain their approval.

Marske United have resigned from the League - the club has been saved from extinction but at the cost of withdrawing from the NPL immediately. Their resignation has been accepted by the NPL and the FA. Presume their results will now be expunged which will move us into a playoff position as we will lose no points and most teams above us will lose 3. Sad for Marske - nice people when I visited last season but their ground was borderline good enough for NPL and needed investment which is hard to come by at the best of times. At least they will live on as a team, albeit initially at least at a lower level in the pyramid.
PS - can someone give Adam Boyes a call!!

James Hanson has today announced his retirement from football meaning he leaves Worksop Town.
Good luck for the future James!

BPA seems to be disintegrating and turning into basically an academy in a shared ground with opportunity for the kids to play a bit of senior football, albeit in a sinking team. Very strange and a bit sad.
Clearly Bowser was just about holding things together and now he’s left they’re falling apart. But it was also a big gamble putting players like Spencer and Preston in key positions, when it’s unlikely they’ll play a majority of the games.

Avenue in real trouble with an owner who wants rid, Academy Coach Thomas McStravick promoted to Sporting Director and a new first team coach Danny Whitaker from Macclesfield but both don't seem to have a clue with the stock excuse being "Players don't do what I tell them" and as a result they have lost nine out of nine since he was appointed. Sharman allegedly lasted only a few days after telling the pair what he thought of them and the SD has told one experienced defender not to turn up for training although he is fit after a lay-off through injury. Meanwhile they're bringing in academy players from league clubs with little or no experience of first team football at any level.According to their fans forum the stadium is now being manned by volunteers on a matchday and the catering has gone down the pan (sorry!) and if you want hot food its a 20-30 minute wait or longer. In an interview with Radio Leeds a couple of weeks ago US based owner Gareth Roberts said all was going well when clearly it isn't so relegation seems to be their fate unless something drastic happens.
9pun intended

Really sad to see what is happening at BPA. Their forum is a (not so) funny place where folk agitated for Bowsers departure but surely not what has happened since. They appear in free fall and it’s hard to know where it will end.

Went to Horsfall yesterday afternoon where Avenue defended really well first half and went two nil up but when Radcliffe applied some serious pressure after the break they crumbled and comceeeded three goals. Jordan Preston and James Hanson came off the bench far too late to make any impact and I can't understand why they weren't in the startimg line up, especially when Hanson is on a reputed £450 per week. Yesterdays defeat all but sealed Avenue's relegation and defeat at home to Basford on Saturday will confirm it.

12-24 months ago I thought Powell was a good fit for us. Did a good job at Brighouse, not least by offloading the crock Sorhaindo to the nearest mugs. And familiar with signing players from Sheffield.
