I was quite surprised when his name was on the released list as he looked like he'd be a good signing for the NPL. I'm glad he's signed now and I hope the issue really was just a straightforward mix up.
As well as the signing being really good news, I thought the article on the website about it was excellent. Much more in-depth and revealing than these things often are, especially going into the explanation around his initial release. I hope they continue in this vein.

Thanks Dan, I have passed this on to Rachel who has been writing all of the releases and in super quick time too! AB

As most of us know Rachel was a sports journalist for the Wharfedale for a number of years and has also been involved with Guiseley AfC for(sorry Rachel)decades and has seen it all in this club. Consequently we have from her professional interesting and truthful reporting of events as we have come to appreciate.

Yeah I’ve been really enjoying the interviews and write-ups (and the photos), they’ve made for an enjoyable close season.

Donald Chimalilo has signed a contract for the new season after an impressive trial spell: guiseleyafc.co.uk/lions-sign-chimalilo-after-impressive-trial-spell/He scored goals against Barnsley and York City and after a string of exciting displays has been given a contract by Danny Ellis and Danny Forrest. Donald looks like an exciting player who will add something to our midfield/attacking options. Welcome to Guiseley Donald! AB

Now if we can sign Andy K and one of the right backs we’ve had on trial that would be great. In my opinions the two Danny’s have done an excellent job pulling together a squad from almost nothing in a very short space of time and have made some excellent signings although time will ultimately be the judgement.

What’s the story with Shaun Tuton? Have we someone else lined up? A goal-scoring Triallist B or C perhaps

Andy Kellett has signed a new contract with the club following a spell on trial: guiseleyafc.co.uk/andy-kellett-signs-new-contract/ There's a really good piece with him on the website too which highlights a conversation with Danny Ellis lead to the midfielder continuing to play football: "I am very pleased to have now signed for the club. After last season I was not sure that I wanted to play again but having spoken to Danny Ellis I could not wait to get started. I have really enjoyed the pre-season." Read the full interview here: guiseleyafc.co.uk/andy-kellett-persuaded-to-carry-on-playing-by-danny-ellis/ It's great to have Andy back and hopefully he can have a bigger impact on the team than his body has allowed him in the past two years. It has also been confirmed that Shaun Tuton has left the club, good luck for the future Shaun! AB

Seems strange that Tuton went through the "is he a Lion or isn't he" rigmarole early, to join us (or stay with us) at the time, only to move on just before the season commences. Or has he got a better or alternative offer one wonders ? Anyway, good luck to him in the future wherever he ends up.

Post on Facebook says he's left the club.
I'll fondly remember all his goal.

Rumour is he left because he didn't think he'd get a regular start. The tall young guy who scored the winner at Avenue on Saturday looked quite useful I thought (which probably means he ain't!).

I think his view is probably correct as can only really see us play one of either him or Jake and I think Jake’s name is probably one of the first on the team sheet.
