I like this signing! Andy - his accent never suited Guiseley and Marine is a far better fit! Although I will miss his footballing skills - played fantastically through pre-Season as Jake Days twin CB brother but never appeared to have full confidence of our management. Wish him well although Adam Haw will beat him for pace next season (Not sure re Jake C!) George - don’t think any of us seriously expected him to stay. A player who just got better and better. Alfreton feels like a sideways move - but better for George as much closer and he’s with his mates, Regan & Ollie. Personally I think George is much better than Guiseley (and Alfreton) and could yet get a contract with a League 1/2 club. HIs problem is his versatility and niceness! Typing re George just makes me happy and smile - He’s a player you just want the best for…. Go get ‘em George

Welcome to Guiseley Jorge Sikora: guiseleyafc.co.uk/jorge-sikora-signs-for-the-lions/ Pronounced: George Jorge is a 20 year-old defender with experience in non league playing for Spennymoor Town, FC United of Manchester and Ossett United after coming through Bradford City's academy. AB Obviously the pronunciation note is helpful, but I was kind of looking forward to going full Barry Davies and over-pronouncing it HorrrHey Sikorrra. Would’ve rolled the ‘r’ in his surname as well. Probably still will, because I’m just that sort of idiot.

I think Regan has been badly advised - a move to Farsley is not an upward step. Shane to see him leave - I liked him as player and person and particularly his American Pie

See Reagan Hutchinson has gone for another relegation battle next season at Farsley. Good luck Reagan, think you'll need it.

Well it’s sad but badly advised as you say. At least he can be clapped by the one away fan next season 😂 poor choice IMO

I liked Regan and couldn't see why he was in and out of the team. He says what a great manager O'Neill was, so presumably another victim of Bignot's lack of man management skills.

Good luck to Regan who has signed for Farsley after rejecting a contract with ourselves.
He was certainly a character and a joy to be around! AB

I liked Regan and couldn't see why he was in and out of the team. He says what a great manager O'Neill was, so presumably another victim of Bignot's lack of man management skills. Another example of a disconnect between players signed and players that would fit the system. I’ll be honest, after the first few games I saw him I wasn’t sure why we’d signed him. He definitely wasn’t a wingback. Once I got to see him play right back it made a lot more sense. But we weren’t playing with a right back under them and hadn’t for a couple of seasons so it’s just a bit confusing. By the time we changed managers, we had brought in/up four wide right players whose natural position didn’t exist in our shape - Tear, JJ, Regan and Brown.

Welcome to Guiseley Nat Crofts: guiseleyafc.co.uk/lions-sign-nat-crofts/ The winger has signed from Stocksbridge Park Steels and can play on either flank, some good quotes from him too about still hoping to become a pro footballer on the link above. He has spent some time in America also after earning a deal with Sheffield United. AB

Lewis Hey has signed a new and improved contract at Nethermoor: guiseleyafc.co.uk/lewis-hey-signs-new-and-improved-contract/The midfielder says that he is "excited to work with Danny Ellis at this level" and feels that he "owes the club something, Guiseley gave me a good introduction to men’s football so I feel respectful to the club for that." Another good piece by Rachel on the link above. Hopefully we see Lewis get some more game time this season after a stop start time last campaign because of injury. AB

Shaun Tuton is back at Nethermoor: guiseleyafc.co.uk/shaun-tuton-returns-to-nethermoor/ The striker mentions how a mix up between him and Danny Ellis saw him initially released but then after returning from his holiday Shaun was able to speak to Danny and is delighted to be back. There's a full interview with the striker on the link above. Definitely good to have Shaun on board, hopefully he can show us a lot more this time around and give us another option up top. AB

Happy to see Shaun back on board. The jury was out for me when he first signed for us but I thought he showed a great attitude and commitment to come back so soon after his bad injury to help try and keep us up.

Jury is out is putting it kindly! And then that awful injury.
BUT I’ve never seen a player work harder while not match fit than the last couple of games of the season. Nobody expected him to be back even. I’ve huge respect for the heart he showed for us and I’m glad he’s back.

Good to see Shaun back and he's another one who brings a positive attitude. Think we never really saw the best of him although I thought he put in a real shift at Alfreton and kept his cool with the penalty. Looking forward to the season as the squad is shaping up with a mix of experience and youth.
