I’m starting to think that, following on from the weekends events, we have been scammed…..

Unbelievable!! Danny has come in along with DF and has had to start from nearly scratch. The team were becoming more settled and Saturday's performance showed what they are capable of achieving. There was a togetherness within the squad and management and it was great to see this in the clubhouse after the games. After Saturday's incident and now this!

Russ has repeatedly said he has no interest in being a manager, so I see no reason to think that this is some plot to reinstate him as sole manager. If he wanted to be a manager he’d have been one and we’d never have hired Marcus, right? So please let’s not panic in that direction. Personally I don’t agree with this decision, and unless there’s something pretty spectacular planned I don’t see how this will benefit us long term. I was really looking forward to a season without controversy, without a relegation battle, without nonsense. So much for my hopes, huh?

The club has to show some respect to the fans and put out a statement regardless, show the guts that Danny showed taking on a really tough task to lift the spirits of this club which he has achieved.

There is a Club Statement on the website now, Danny Forrest will take over as Interim Manager assisted by Martin Foster. Read in full here or below: guiseleyafc.co.uk/club-statement-danny-ellis/We can confirm that we have today parted company with Manager Danny Ellis. We appreciate that our supporters may be surprised and disappointed with this decision given Danny’s long service to the club as a player and having only recently returned to the club as manager. Danny took over in May and had to build a new team following relegation. However, the board of directors are ambitious for the club and felt that, given the investment of time and commitment needed to deliver these goals, a change was needed now to give the squad the best chance of achieving our aims this season. Danny Forrest, assisted by Martin Foster, will take over as Interim Manager and has the full backing of the board to progress the development of the playing staff and the team. We would like to thank Danny Ellis for his contribution to our club and wish him every success in the future. AB

Really and the amount of time and commitment needed wasn't discussed by both sides at interview?? Really Danny is too honest for this shower .

I’m beginning to despair at the state of our club, both on and off the pitch. How many more management changes are we going to see by the board of directors? How many more players are we going to recruit/let go? How many more so called supporters are going to bring the good name of Guiseley AFC into disrepute? Feels like a football club in turmoil and that makes me very sad and concerned.

I was always a bit surprised that it was Danny Ellis who was made manager and not Danny Forrest, who has some experience. I wondered if it was a condition of getting him back as a player.
Having made the decision, though, to go back on it like this seems more than a bit off. I don't know all of what's gone on (or any of it, really), but if a man who's given as much as Danny has for the club has been treated poorly then it's a poor show.
If the directors don't want to invest time and commitment, then one has to hope they've decided to invest money instead.

Normally when a manager is sacked, there are two camps among the fans, not necessarily of equal size: those who think it's right and those who don't. In this case I don't know anyone who agrees with this decision. A bad few days for the club.

Utterly incomprehensible. There must be more to this than meets the eye. No Guiseley supporter would have seen this coming or wanted it at this point so either the directors are watching a different team to the rest of us or they know something we don’t. Very disappointed.

If this is true they can stick my season ticket and after 20 yrs my support of Guiseley is over. The directors made appalling decisions over Cox then Marcus and O'Neil and sat still while they were stitched up then to get rid of a guy who has only the clubs best interest at heart is ludicrous. If they re appoint O'Neil they deserve all that's coming to them, the guys a failure and no Marcus to blame now. If they appoint O'Neil then I would have to seriously consider my relationship with the club. I have no intention of watching a Guiseley side managed by him. His reign alongside Bignot was one of the worst in terms of quality and entertainment. I thought it was a shocking decision to bring him back this year even in a different role. It's worth noting that Danny has won 42% of all games this season - a significantly better win rate than the 5 appointments prior: Kittrick (second stint) - 29% Russ/Marcus - 33% St Ledger - 21% Cox - 19% Lockwood - 27%

Just want to wish Mr Guiseley, Danny Ellis, all the best for the future!
With injuries and transfers out he has practically built two teams in the short time he has been manager here and got an excellent result on Saturday which was fully deserved even if you ignore the second half incidents.
The club had a really good feeling about it at the start of this season, Danny helped create that and Nethermoor was a much brighter place and it would have been great to see him go and and achieve much more in the role.
I am sure he will be back playing or managing somewhere else in the near future.
Finally good luck to Danny Forrest and Martin Foster in their new roles. AB

Well said, Adam. Danny created a great one club atmosphere and was a delight to work with on interviews and so on.

So what are the aims of the board for this season? Perhaps they would like to comment on what their aims are?

My hopes have been dashed by the official announcement that Danny E has been sacked. Not sure what to say really. As people have said above, there must be more to this than simply wanting someone new in charge otherwise ... why ?? Yes we are nearer the bottom of the table than top, but the league is very tight and a couple of good wins could see us significantly further up the league. And it's still only November with < half the season played. We are also in the 3rd round of the FA Trophy, so what exactly has gone so wrong to determine this ?
Best of luck to Danny F & Martin, but can't see them being at the helm too long until the board bring in someone knew (assuming Mr O'Neil is not lined up).
So I suppose it's watch this space.
