The club have responded with 48 hours to the issues we all experienced on Saturday with a range of more stringent measures, so lets give them a chance shall we rather than querying every detail? When you ask, "rather than querying every detail", that was exactly the problem on Saturday. A large number of scroats appear to have jumped on a horse and cart and ridden rough shod over the last set of changes to the ground regulations that were similarly initially lauded as being stringent, because either the details weren't detailed enough, or were not implemented firmly enough.
It didn't take me long to identify some of the potential loop-holes where the latest proposed changes could be ridden rough shod over. And I'm on the Club's side!
I am trying to be constructive in a cost-effective manner. The police are expensive. I agree with others that the security needs to be substantially beefed up in the short term.. The harsh reality is that some young people have no respect for others. They are happy to dish out abuse to all and sundry, but if an adults raises a finger, then that adult could have a serious legal problem.
I'll be frank. I'm glad that some of the mini-hooli-wannabes got a bit of a slap on Saturday. They finally faced the harsh realisation that there are no minimum age-limits for hooligans. If you want to behave like one, then fellow hooligans will treat you like one. Saturday showed the Guiseley cretins up as the spineless gob-sh!tes that they are. I cut my teeth on the terraces in the 70s and 80s. These children have no idea how unpleasant it could be to attend a football match in that era.
By way of discouragement, perhaps we could have a retro-day - specially filmed for immediate uploading onto YouTube and TikTok (to be shown in local schools)- of the mini-hooli-wannabes being "taxed" (i.e.robbed) of their designer clobber by opposition supporters, then having their shoe laces and belts confiscated by the police "to minimise the risk of public disorder". The good old days!

Club is responding quickly which is what we all want, very sad to see that some fans are thinking of packing it in because of the embarrassing things that have been going on as of recent. I do think the under 21 rule is awful because not a single one of the “hooligans” are over the age of 18. But the club hasn’t got much option at all, reputation is being tarnished and the stewards we have in place are naff, do absolutely nothing to help the situation whatsoever, completely stealing a wage.

Will this mean the supporters club will also ban them from taking them to away games The Supporters' Club have tonight issued a statement following the announcement from the club yesterday: www.guiseleyafcsupportersclub.com/s-c-statement-away-travel.html Following on from the football club's announcement on the introduction of membership scheme for Under 21s the Supporters' Club will require all unaccompanied U18s wishing to travel on the coach to present either their Guiseley AFC Youth Membership card or Season Ticket when boarding, effective immediately. All unaccompanied U21s will also need to provide proof of age to show they are 18 or over. Whilst supporters await the delivery of their Youth Membership cards/Season Tickets we will be in discussions with the club to check on completed applications of those who do wish to travel to away games. Anyone stepping out of line will not be permitted to travel again and their names will be passed to the football club. The following conduct will not be tolerated: No homophobic or racist chants No continued goading of the opposition fans Not following Supporters' Club Committee Member(s) instructions Entering the field of play Directing abuse at the opposition goalkeeper by using continued foul language Not following directions of stewards or other club staff members We represent the football club and it's reputation at away games so we are afraid that we will have a one strike and you are banned rule. We value the loyal, respectful and positive support shown by our travelling fans this season and look forward to the final nine away games as we mount a push for a play off place. The Committee AB

Such a shame so little of the talk is about the game of football last Saturday. It's a real shame we lost a man because we were playing top of the table and I thought we were really good up until then. A lot of attacking spark in a way that was absent in the first half of the season. It could have been 2-0 if Cassidy hadn't hit the inside of the post. A lot of positives to take from it from a footballing point of view. Can't complain about the penalty but I think a sending off as well was rather harsh.. it was a professional foul though.

Under the letter of the law it was a sending off but having watched the incident several times I'm not sure if the foul was just outside the area even though theirguy finished up sprawled in the area?

It began outside the area, the striker made sure he ended up in the area, as strikers do. The ref was rubbish and never really in control, but he’s not the reason we lost the game. I’m afraid Kareem was out of his depth from the start, never got a handle on the opposition, and was lucky his yellow card wasn’t worse. That challenge was a whole time zone late, and a second yellow (or as it turned out, a straight red) was only a matter of time. I don’t normally condone subbing players before half time, but if I could see he needed to go, management should’ve seen it too. I don’t mean to hammer the guy, and suspect Kareem was just trying to impress and so overcompensating, and that he’s better than that performance. I hope for his sake, he gets another chance to put it right.

If you watch the Hyde footage of the game on Youtube, it's from the other side of the pitch and gives a bit of a different view on the penalty. The initial contact outside the box is pretty soft but he gives him a good old tug as the player gets into the box. Maybe he decided the initial contact wasn't enough for a foul. I know that no. 10 for Hyde was having a great time winding up the Guiseley fans but I thought he looked absolute class. You could tell he's played at a higher level. In fairness to him, the stick he got from the Guisley fans calling him a cheat was a bit harsh after the penalty.. especially as our chap went down rather soft for ours.
